### Lyrics

December 8, 1980
I was only 5 years old
And my memory keeps on playin’
The words my mommy told

(She said)
It may seem the dream is over
It’s all gone to Yesterday
But we surely must remember
What he had to say (he had to say)

*Chorus*  He sang songs of love to us
  They were songs of peace
And he told each one of us
  Love is all we need

December 8, 20 something
I turn on my radio
And it brightens my day
To hear the songs we all know (so well)

The dream was never over
I hear the DJ say
Cause artists around the globe
Are playing anyway (songs of yesterday)

*Chorus*

They are songs of love to us
They are songs of peace
And they tell each one of us
Love is all we need.

*Instrumental Bridge*

*Chorus*

He sang songs of love to us
They were songs of peace
And he told each one of us
Love is all we need
